Addiction and Problem Gambling Counsellor
FULL-TIME POSITION IN COCHRANE – SMOOTH ROCK FALLS ($56,404 - $62,070)
(Employee Benefits and HOOPP Pension Plan)
Responsibilities Include:
· Conduct assessments to ensure that the client receives the appropriate services.
· Create treatment plans to meet the client’s needs.
· Refer to other community services when needed.
· Communicate regularly with community treatment agencies to monitor the progress of the client.
· Conduct follow-ups with clients.
· Create and offer education sessions about addiction and problem gambling for the community.
Education, Experience and Skills required:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or College diploma in Social Work or related field.
· Experience in the provision of counselling services.
· Strong clinical skills.
· Understanding of the issues involved in working with substance abuse and gambling.
· Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
· Bilingual in both English and French (written and oral).
· You may be asked to travel in the district from time to time so a valid driver’s licence and access to a
vehicle is necessary.
· Membership in a professional college will be considered an asset.
