Location: Kesagami Wilderness Lodge, Cochrane, ON

Employment: 9 week summer position from May 21st to July 28th 2023.

Pay Rate: Salary starts at $3300.00 per month PLUS tips (usually between $2000 and $3000 for the term of employment) with $295.00 deduction for room & board. Housing and meals are provide. For apprentice guides the tips with be separated from the tip pool as you will be tipped by the guests in cash or on card. 

Job Description: Your responsibilities will be to help provide the very best in customer service at a renowned remote fly-in fishing lodge located in Northern Ontario. This is a 9-week summer operation lasting from May 21st to July 28th, 2023. The apprentice fishing guide position is more of our most sought-after positions at the lodge. The fishing guides are on the water almost every day showing guests the spots, assisting them catching fish, taking photos, and cooking the shore lunch. The apprentice guide will follow a veteran guide for the first few trips on the water. There are scheduled days off but when the guides are on shore they will be expected to work with the dockhands if its not a scheduled day off. Our apprentice fishing guides will need to perform the following duties. 

Duties:

• Greet guests at the dock
• Park, clean and refuel the boats
• Take guests out on the water, assist them with catching fish and cook shore lunch
• Assist with work projects at the lodge and around the lake
• Load and unload planes
• Assist with any work/work projects that need to be done at the lodge

Requirements and Qualifications:
Must own steel toe boots. 5 years of fishing experience and the ability to filet fish (we can teach you if you have some experience, but it is a skill that needs to be learned quick.) Advanced fishing experience and owning a depth finder will put you to the top of our list.
