Senior Accounting Clerk

Full Job Description


We are looking to add a new Senior Accounting Clerk to our team. Our ideal candidate is well versed in accounting principles with several years of experience with all accounting, payroll and bookkeeping functions.


  • Perform cash management functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and bank reconciliation functions.
  • Account Receivables: Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions; Review accounts receivable aging reports; Maintain records of invoices, debits, and credits; Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from customer service department and from customers; Prepare and send monthly statements to customers and to credit agency; Handle inter-company billing of invoices; Complete all month end procedures.
  • Complete HST, EHT, WSIB, and Payroll remittances
  • Payroll: Submit Payroll Deductions to CRA; Accrue EHT payable to Minister of Finance; Calculate WSIB premiums; Prepared T4 and T4A forms; Reconcile government Payroll, WSIB and EHT reports on the yearly basis. Import Payroll transactions from Desjardin payroll solutions into our accounting software
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile the deposits and withdrawals as per bank statements; Prepare and post Journal Entries for bank interest, service fees, printing cheques fee, bank entries, etc.;
  • Maintain accounting general ledger by verifying and posting account transactions. Balancing accounts due to/owed to accounts, cash clearing, payroll clearing
  • Process Transactions for Multiple Financial Entities and comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Other Duties and special projects as assigned from time to time.


  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and the ability to pick up new software quickly.
  • 5+ years experience in accounting or bookkeeping related field.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Navision and Quickbooks are strong assets but not required.
  • CPA Designation or working towards CPA designation is considered an asset but not required.
  • Positive attitude, honest, self-motivated and willingness to work and learn

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent


  • Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm
