YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

·         Reporting to the Environment and Sustainability Manager you will be part of the Environment and Sustainability Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the Environment.

·         Lead the site environmental team including coaching and developing staff;

·         Maintain compliance with all regulatory, permitting, monitoring and reporting requirements;

·         Develop, implement and maintain environmental management systems for all air, surface water, groundwater, geochemistry, tailings, waste and wildlife programs;

·         Monitor the impact of the operation on the natural environment, identify areas of risk and propose adaptive management strategies to mitigate impacts;

·         Promote site awareness of environmental requirements and conditions for operations;

·         Research and propose cost effective, efficient and compliant approaches;

·         Provide support and advice to department heads on inclusion of environmental consideration in work plans;

·         Undertake regular site audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures;

·         Ensure incident response measures are in place, lead investigations and prepare reports.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

·         University degree in an Environmental Engineering, science or environmental discipline;

·         At least 8 years progressive experience in an environmental role within a mining operation;

·         At least 3 years in a supervisory role with demonstrated success mentoring a team of professionals;

·         Extensive knowledge of Canadian and Ontario legislation relevant to the mining industry;

·         Advanced MS Suite skills, experience with SAP/JD Edwards considered an asset;

·         Knowledge of environmental management systems;

·         Influential, with strong negotiation skills;

·         Excellent verbal, written and listening skills;

·         Experience in a cross-cultural work environment preferred;

·         Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

·         Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine; Hybrid schedules also available;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
