YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor and/or Mine Dispatchers, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. The Hot Seat Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in leading a team of skilled and dedicated load, haul and drill operators in the safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction of ore and movement of waste rock. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

·         Ensuring the safety of the team by applying a zero-harm approach to all tasks performed;

·         Assisting the Mine Supervisor, Drill Supervisor and Dispatcher to optimize production in accordance with the mine plan;

·         Planning, organizing, leading and controlling resources to minimize delays and standby time on the hauling, loading and drilling fleet;

·         Coordinating the movement of material to meet the mine plan;

·         Communicating production information and changes to the Load & Haul Supervisor, Drill Supervisor, Technical Services, Mine Maintenance and the Process Plant to minimize production delays;

·         Communicating with load & haul and drill operators to ensure that equipment delays are accurately recorded;

·         Promoting a climate of trust and participation.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

·         Minimum high school diploma or GED with extensive open pit experience; or degree in mining or related field with operations experience;

·         Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in an open pit mining operation;

·         Experience operating a fleet management system (dispatching);

·         Proven commitment to safety, health and environmental best practices;

·         Strong English verbal and written communication skills;

·         Excellent organizational and leadership skills;

·         Strong business acumen and competent computer literacy skills (MS Office);

·         Valid Ontario driver’s license;

·         Experience working and leading cross cultural teams is considered an asset;

·         Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:

·         Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
