Reporting to the Health, Safety & Security Manager, the Industrial Hygienist will lead the organizations
industrial hygiene initiatives across multiple workplace environments. This role is critical in safeguarding
employee health by managing airborne hazard risks and ensuring compliance with occupational health
regulations. They would also develop and maintain programs, and conduct comprehensive assessments
of chemical, biological, and physical agents. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate
technical findings into actionable solutions and champion a culture of health and safety. They will play a
critical role in ensuring our workplaces remain safe, compliant, and aligned with best practices in
occupational health. They must be a committed team player with strong knowledge of and dedication to
safety and production methods. Other duties will be assigned as per operational needs.

position.
Operational / Technical Execution •
Routinely conduct exposure assessments across all roles within the organization. •
Be the lead in the organization’s sampling efforts and requirements. •
Oversee the development and maintenance of the Airborne Hazard Management Program. •
Develop and implement health and hygiene policies and procedures. •
Study, evaluate and control physical, chemical and biological hazards and stresses in the
workplace. • Suggest changes to work environments and processes as required. •
Involved in promoting and developing safe work procedures. •
Participate in emergency response planning. •
Work closely with Operations and Site Management to ensure initiatives are properly aligned
and executed throughout the sites to meet or exceed site-specific safety goals.
General Administration and Controls •
Data entry in health and safety management systems. •
Report and document investigations and conclusions. •
Help with the preparation and delivery of health and safety training sessions. •
Collaborate with various departments to promote health and safety awareness. •
Provide information to workers and managers or employers on methods to reduce the risk of
injury or illness from specific occupational hazards.
• Conduct frequent reviews of established health and safety procedures to ensure ongoing
effectiveness and compliance on site.
Qualifications and Skills Requirement •
Must be authorized to work in Canada. •
Valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation. •
Ability to work safely, efficiently, and always maintain a safety conscious mentality within the
Mining environment. •
Good safety knowledge and understanding with the ability to recognize, reduce or eliminate
hazards and situations that may cause problems. •
Self-motivated person, with a positive attitude and possesses strong organizational and time
management skills. •
Ability to interact with a wide variety of departments/roles. •
Ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast moving and demanding environment. •
The ability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing,
creative, and energetic environment is critical. •
Excellent communications skills, as well as competency in computer applications, such as:
Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word •
Strong report writing skills. •
Experience in workplace sampling and hazard assessment is a must. •
Strong understanding of airborne contaminants and control strategies. •
Degree or diploma in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a
related field. • Certification such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is an asset but not required. •
Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene principles and regulations. •
Must be physically fit and capable of performing physical labor such as lifting. •
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
