Position: Summer Student Program Assistant (2 Positions)

Eligibility: College / University Students (May – End of August 2026)

Wage: $17.60/hour, 35 hours per week
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary

The Summer Student Program Assistant will support the Ininew Friendship Centre (IFC) in delivering programs, services, and community events. This role offers hands-on experience in program coordination, administration, and community engagement in both office and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IFC Program Coordinators to support programming in-office and within the community
• Assist with office administration and general program support
• Support the facilitation and organization of community events and cultural programming
• Provide front desk support, including reception coverage and assisting with Let’s Eat programming (breakfast/lunch support, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness)
• Maintain confidentiality and always uphold professional standards
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to take on tasks as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university program and returning to school in Fall 2026
• Must identify as Indigenous (First Nation, Non-Status, Métis, or Inuit)
• Experience in program coordination, leadership, or community involvement is considered an asset
• Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector CPIC check
• Demonstrated understanding of, and respect for, Indigenous culture
