Job Summary

Villeneuve Construction is seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Truck and Coach Certified Technician or Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty equipment, trucks, and trailers in both shop and field settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections and repairs on trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel-powered units, heavy equipment, and related systems.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment, both in the shop and through field service calls.
  • Install, repair, and maintain equipment attachments.
  • Install and align engines and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain and repair cooling, lubrication, and drivetrain systems.
  • Perform incidental welding operations as needed.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Computer literacy for documentation and diagnostics.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • A DZ license is considered a valuable asset
