The Infection Prevention & Control Program Leader (IPCPL) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining infection prevention and control programs across all MICs facilities. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this management‑level role leads surveillance activities, supports outbreak identification and response, and ensures compliance with applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures.
The IPCPL provides expertise and support to staff, collaborates with Public Health, supports long-term care IPAC requirements, and oversees the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program through audits, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development.
In addition to program leadership, the IPCPL contributes to employee health initiatives, including immunization reviews and vaccination campaigns. The role also supports organizational committees, education, and administrative functions with a focus on patient and resident safety, occupational health and safety compliance, and a positive team environment.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting
- 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity is preferred
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of PIDAC/PHO best practices, CSA standards, and Accreditation Canada ROPs
- Demonstrated commitment to equitable, inclusive, and culturally safe care, including Indigenous cultural safety
- Experience with infection surveillance systems and data analysis
- Solid understanding of infection control principles and guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- A clear criminal record check will be required by the successful candidate as a condition of employment
Compensation
- Rate of pay: $51.95 – $57.48 / hour (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
- Paid benefits and vacation
- Enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
