The Northeastern Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) is funding Learning Recovery Program Tutors. This in-person tutoring opportunity will provide postsecondary students and graduates with an opportunity to develop and enhance their educational experience by linking academic learning in a practical environment. The Learning Recovery Program Tutors will support NCDSB students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 in literacy, numeracy, and foundational learning skills, by assisting in pre- and post- assessments, providing student supports as per students’ needs to assist in learning recovery and closing achievement gaps, and supporting learning in a trusted environment grounded in the principles of high quality Catholic education.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a post-secondary student enrolled in a college or university;
• Excellent understanding and knowledge in the area of Literacy and Mathematics;
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team and independently;
• Strong computer skills / Use of technology, including Google Apps for Education
• Excellent verbal and written skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Life experiences that are relatable to students at the elementary panel;
• French as a Second Language is an asset for schools with French Immersion programming;
• Experience in a classroom sett ing and/or working with children and youth would be considered an asset.

SALARY
$20.16/ hour
